How it works

Three planned steps between you and a funded account

No multi-phase gauntlet. No activation fees after you pass — $0 activation and $0 data fees on both one-time and monthly plans. The planned path is short on purpose — the model is designed so we make money when you trade well, not when you keep re-buying evaluations.

01

Pass one evaluation

At launch, you'll pick an account size, choose one-time or monthly, and trade the simulated evaluation on NinjaTrader — with TradingView planned alongside it for charting, if that's your setup. Hit the profit target without breaching the trailing drawdown. One step, minimum 5 trading days — no time limit on one-time plans, so there's no reason to gamble.

02

Then, your funded account

Pass, and your funded account will be set up with the same size and the same rules you already know. No new fee, no second phase, no changed targets. You'll sign the trader agreement and trade the firm's capital under the risk engine.

03

Request payouts, keep 90%

Under the planned terms, after your first 14 days funded you'll be able to request a payout whenever you're above your buffer — then weekly after that. You'll keep 90% of the profit. Grow by adding accounts (up to 3) or scaling to a larger plan.

Why Luma

Built differently, because the old way is broken

Most prop firms rent the same third-party plumbing, hide traps in the fine print, and profit when traders fail. Luma was founded by a trader who ran a firm on that old stack — and decided to rebuild every layer of it.

Our own feed & engine — built in-house

Nearly every firm rents the same third-party stack, Rithmic included. We're building our own instead: Luma's core matching and risk engine already runs in testing, and our own market data feed is the layer now in development to replace the rented stack entirely. One system, accountable end to end — when something needs fixing, there's no vendor to point at.

Evaluation that rewards skill

The planned evaluation will be assessed by an AI-driven risk layer that looks at how you trade — consistency, risk control, position discipline — not just whether you got lucky once. It exists to find traders who can last, because lasting traders are the ones who get paid month after month.

Planned: NinjaTrader execution, TradingView charts

NinjaTrader is the platform Luma traders will execute on at launch — your indicators, your workspace, your strategies, in the desktop platform futures traders already use. Prefer TradingView for charting and alerts? It's planned as a charting companion — chart and plan in TradingView, execute in NinjaTrader. Nothing to relearn, no web-only platform you're forced into. More platforms are on the roadmap below.

Every rule, on this page

The complete planned rulebook is published below — targets, drawdowns, payout terms, all of it — before enrollment opens. No consistency traps revealed after the fact, no payout conditions invented at withdrawal time. If a planned rule isn't written here, it isn't part of the launch program.

Plans & pricing

Pick your account size — and how you pay

Your choice at launch: pay once, or pay monthly. Both will include a 90% profit split, $0 activation fee and $0 data fees — no reset upsells pushed at you. These are the planned launch terms — confirmed in your trader agreement before any fee is charged. Every plan card carries its own link for each billing model — one-time and monthly each open the pre-launch dashboard preview for that exact plan. Select a plan to see its full planned terms.

Planned one-time: pay once and your evaluation stays open until you pass or breach — no monthly clock. Best if you want no recurring charge.

Planned for all accounts: 90% profit split · $0 activation fee · $0 data fees · end-of-day trailing drawdown · minimum 5 trading days to pass · no evaluation time limit on one-time plans · micros count at 1/10 contract size · up to 3 funded accounts per trader. Monthly plans bill each month while your evaluation is active and can be cancelled anytime before the next billing date. Fees are in USD. Program terms are the planned launch terms and will be confirmed in your trader agreement before you start.

The full rulebook

Every planned rule. Right here. Before you pay.

This is the complete set of planned rules for the launch evaluation and funded accounts, to be confirmed in your trader agreement before trading begins. There are no others. If a situation isn't covered here, it isn't held against you.

Profit targetReach the target for your plan (e.g. $3,000 on the $50K) at any pace. There is no deadline — your evaluation stays open until you pass or breach the drawdown.
Trailing drawdownYour account fails if your balance closes below the trailing threshold. The threshold trails your end-of-day high balance — never intraday spikes — and stops trailing once it reaches your starting balance, where it locks. Amount per plan is shown in the plan terms above.
Minimum trading days5 trading days with at least one executed trade before an evaluation can pass, and before a first payout. This stops one-lucky-day passes — for your protection as much as ours.
Position limitsMaximum contracts per plan (e.g. 8 minis on the $50K). Micros count as 1/10 of a mini. Orders above the limit are rejected by the risk engine before they execute — they can't breach your account by accident.
ConsistencyFunded accounts only: no single trading day may account for more than 40% of your total profit at the time of a payout request. It doesn't fail your account — a payout just waits until your profit is spread across more days. There is no consistency rule in the evaluation.
Trading hours & newsTrade the full CME Globex session, Sunday 6:00 PM to Friday 5:00 PM ET. Positions must be flat by 4:10 PM ET each day — no overnight or weekend holds. News trading is allowed; there are no restricted events.
ProhibitedLatency or quote arbitrage, exploiting feed errors, hedging the same account against itself across multiple accounts, account sharing, and using someone else's evaluation. Standard, and enforced by the engine's audit trail.
If you breachThe account closes at the breach — the risk engine's kill switch is automatic and final for that account. You're free to start a new evaluation at the standard fee whenever you're ready. Breaching never affects payouts you've already earned.
Profit target

Reach the target for your plan (e.g. $3,000 on the $50K) at any pace. No deadline — the evaluation stays open until you pass or breach the drawdown.

Trailing drawdown

The threshold trails your end-of-day high balance — never intraday spikes — and locks once it reaches your starting balance. Breach it at the close and the account ends.

Minimum trading days

5 trading days with at least one executed trade, before passing and before a first payout.

Position limits

Maximum contracts per plan (e.g. 8 minis on the $50K); micros = 1/10. Oversized orders are rejected by the engine before they execute.

Consistency (funded only)

No single day over 40% of total profit at payout time. It never fails an account — a payout just waits for profit to spread across days. No consistency rule in evaluation.

Hours & news

Full CME Globex session; flat by 4:10 PM ET daily, no overnight holds. News trading allowed, no restricted events.

Prohibited

Latency/quote arbitrage, exploiting feed errors, self-hedging across accounts, account sharing, trading someone else's evaluation.

If you breach

The account closes automatically at the breach. Start a new evaluation at the standard fee anytime. Earned payouts are never affected.

$0 activation fee

Passing costs nothing extra — on both one-time and monthly plans.

$0 data fees

No separate data charge on either billing model. What you see is what you pay.

No hidden payout conditions

The payout terms on this page are the whole list. Nothing is added later.

Payouts

You keep 90%. Here's the math, in the open.

Drag the slider to your profit and see exactly what would land in your pocket under the planned terms. Same split from your first dollar — no tiers, no fine print.

Under the planned terms, every Luma funded account will pay the 90% split — on both one-time and monthly plans. The 80% button is only here so you can compare what other firms' standard split would cost you. Your evaluation fee (one-time or monthly) is separate from profit and is not deducted from payouts.

You receive$4,500
Luma's share$500
Extra vs. an 80% firm+$500

Planned: first payout after 14 days

Once you've been funded for 14 calendar days (and traded at least 5 days), you'll be able to request any amount above your plan's safety buffer. After that, request weekly.

Safety buffer, stated plainly

Keep your account balance above the locked drawdown threshold plus the buffer for your plan (shown in your plan terms). Everything above it is withdrawable profit — no other holdbacks.

Planned: paid by bank transfer

Payouts will be processed within 2 business days of approval and sent by ACH or wire. Minimum payout $100. Approval will be a rules check against this page — not a judgment call on your trading.

The Luma stack

Technology no other prop firm is building

Every other firm rents the same feed and the same risk tools. We're building ours — the core engine already runs in testing — because a firm that doesn't control its plumbing can't stand behind its payouts.

Layer 1 · Data — in development

Luma Feed

Our own market data feed for CME futures, being built to replace rented third-party feeds — so the prices you see are the prices your orders are judged on.

Layer 2 · Platform

NinjaTrader + TradingView

Planned at launch: execute inside NinjaTrader with your own indicators and strategies, with TradingView alongside as a charting companion. See the Platforms section below for what's planned at launch and what's next.

Layer 3 · Core engine

Matching & risk

In testing, orders are size-checked, filled with realistic slippage, and watched against your drawdown in real time. Breach the limit and the kill switch locks the account instantly — the same for everyone.

Layer 4 · Evaluation

AI evaluation

The planned evaluation scores every trade for consistency and risk discipline, so funding decisions will reward traders who protect capital — not one lucky session.

Why it matters to you: when a rented platform goes down mid-session, other firms tell you it's the vendor's fault. At Luma the engine and kill switch are already ours, and the feed is being built to join them — so the uptime, the fills and the fairness of your evaluation are ours to stand behind.
Platforms

Do you need more than one platform? Yes — so here's the plan

Not every trader works the same way. NinjaTrader is the platform traders will execute on at launch, TradingView is planned as a charting companion from day one, and more execution platforms are on the roadmap — each added only when it can run with the same fills and the same rules. No platform gets added through a rented feed workaround.

NinjaTrader

Execution · Desktop
At launch

The platform Luma traders will execute on at launch. The plan: trade in NinjaTrader with your own workspace, indicators and automated strategies.

  • Full order types, chart trading & ATM strategies
  • Bring your existing NinjaTrader workspace
  • Setup steps will be published before the first cohort starts

TradingView

Charting & alerts
Charting companion

The charting tool most traders already live in. The plan: chart, scan and set alerts in TradingView, then execute in NinjaTrader — you won't have to give up your layouts, indicators or watchlists to trade at Luma.

  • Keep your TradingView layouts & Pine indicators for analysis
  • Price alerts for your levels, on desktop & mobile
  • Direct TradingView execution is under evaluation — not promised, and not part of the launch plan

Tradovate

Execution · Web & mobile
Roadmap

A clean web and mobile execution platform, popular with traders who don't want a heavy desktop install. First in line after launch, once it can be added with the same account, rules and risk controls.

  • Trade from a browser or phone, nothing to install
  • Same account, same rules, same drawdown engine
  • Status: planned — no date promised yet

ATAS & order-flow tools

Execution · Advanced
Roadmap

For order-flow and footprint traders. ATAS and similar professional tools are under evaluation for a later phase — they join only if the data they show can come from Luma Feed itself, tick for tick.

  • Footprint, DOM and volume-profile workflows
  • Added only when Luma Feed can power them properly
  • Status: under evaluation — no date promised yet

Why not everything on day one? Every added platform is another way fills or rules could differ. We'd rather launch one execution platform that is provably fair — and add the next ones properly — than list five logos and route your orders through someone else's rented stack to do it. The roadmap above is the order we're working in, and this page will say so when each one goes live. Naming a platform on this page only describes the planned setup — it doesn't claim or imply any partnership, endorsement or approval by that platform.

Questions

Straight answers

No. Your only cost is the evaluation fee — one-time or monthly, your choice — with $0 activation and $0 data fees on both. In the evaluation you'll trade a simulated account; once funded at launch, you'll trade the firm's capital under the firm's risk limits. You can never lose more than the fee you paid.

At launch, NinjaTrader for execution — you'll use your own NinjaTrader installation with your existing indicators, workspace and strategies. TradingView is planned alongside it as a charting companion for charting and alerts, so you can keep your layouts and Pine indicators for analysis. Tradovate (web & mobile) is first on the roadmap after launch, and order-flow tools like ATAS are under evaluation — each will be added only when it can run with the same fills and rules, never through a rented feed. See the Platforms section above for the status of each one.

At launch, CME futures: equity indices (ES, NQ, YM and their micros), metals (GC, SI), energy (CL) and more. Micros count as 1/10 of a mini against your position limit, so smaller sizing is always an option.

Under the planned terms: after 14 calendar days funded and at least 5 trading days, you'll be able to request a payout of any profit above your safety buffer — then weekly after that. You keep 90%. Requests will be checked against the published rules and processed within 2 business days by ACH or wire, minimum $100.

That account closes — the risk engine enforces the limit automatically, the same for every trader. Nothing else happens: payouts already earned are yours, and you can start a fresh evaluation at the standard fee whenever you like.

The evaluation will be a simulated account running through our own engine, with realistic fills and slippage. Funded traders will trade the firm's capital in a simulated-to-live environment under the same engine and rules — your dashboard will always show which environment your account is in.

Luma means light. This industry runs on fine print and fog; we named the firm after the opposite. Every rule, price and payout term is on this page, in the open — that's the whole idea.

Yes — both models are available on every account size, with the same 90% split, $0 activation and $0 data fees. One-time: $69 / $99 / $159 / $229 for $25K / $50K / $100K / $150K. Monthly: $39 / $45 / $89 / $149 per month for the same sizes. One-time has no evaluation time limit; monthly bills each month while your evaluation is active and can be cancelled before the next billing date.

Luma Funding is forming its first cohort of traders ahead of launch. Choose a plan above to reserve your evaluation — your fee isn't charged until your account is created and your start is confirmed in your trader agreement.
